Blog Roll- The Color Purple

The theme for this week's Blog Roll is The Color Purple, which just happens to be my favorite color.  I've always loved all shades of purple, and I remember asking for a purple octopus for Christmas when I was 3 or 4.  My mom and grandparents looked everywhere for a stuffed purple octopus, but never did manage to find one.  Now of course I can just create my own, and I do have several purple octopuses made from polymer clay as well as plush versions ;-)  I love purple flowers, purple rooms (Gramma painted her room purple and it's been that color all my life), purple dragons- you name it!  I've noticed that I'm not alone in my love of the color purple either.  Many artists will tell you that's their favorite color, and the members of the Polymer Clay Smooshers guild are no exception.  Today I want to showcase some of the purple items the Smooshers have created.
This necklace from Valeries Stuff features gray, purple, and orange beads- a striking combination.

I just adore this Purrfectly Purple Cat figurine from TTEDesigns!  It's my favorite animal in my favorite color ;-)

I love purple and black together, and Tonyas Treasures does it beautifully with this Purple Petunias Domed Pendant.  The addition of a Swarovski crystal only makes it better!

This Purple and Green Swirl Pendant necklace from Sharp Art by Dawna reminds me a bit of a purple octopus.  That looks like a tentacle to me ;-)

This pretty heart necklace from Second Sister MoArk Jewelry has several shades of purple in it, along with lots of great texture.

And finally, a whole bouquet of purple rose pens from Rosy Writers.

And those are just a few of the pretty purple creations from the Polymer Clay Smooshers guild.  Thanks so much for sharing our passion for purple!  To view more posts on The Color Purple be sure to check out http://dreamweaversdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/05/gotta-luv-purple.html, http://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/blog_post/ArtmakersWorlds/8431/the_color_purple, and http://wyverndesigns.blogspot.com/2012/06/shades-of-purple.html.

Smooshers Blog Roll- Green

The theme for this week's Blog roll is Green, which is just perfect at this time of year. Spring is on it's way (don't forget to turn your clocks forward this weekend!), and Mother Nature is starting to add little touches of green here and there.  The crocuses are starting to come up, and the daffodil leaves are poking through the soil.  Some of my hyacinths are even pushing up through their covering of Fall leaves.  We've had a mild winter, so some plants and trees are getting buds even sooner than usual.
And the Smooshers have plenty of fresh green items to share as well!  These Green Frog earrings from WyvernDesigns make me think of the Spring Peepers that fill warm Spring nights with their mating calls.

And this Dragon Trinket Box from WishfullThinking has many shades of green throughout.  He looks like a Spring Dragon to me ;-)

And here's a beautiful and unique green flower pendant from ValeriesStuff. These remind me of early Spring flowers.

And this Emerald Amethyst Polymer Clay Rectangle Pendant and Earring Set from TTEDesigns is just gorgeous.  The colors go together perfectly!

And one final green gem today- a Magical Lime Green 23K Gold Leaf necklace from TonyasTreasures.  This is a truly elegant piece of jewelry!
