What inspires you to create?

My muse whom I call Mabel inspires me. Mabel is the part of me that changes constantly. One day she is a little girl who wants to play, the next day she is an elegant grown-up lady (at least in her head). She is also the reason why I hardly ever use a tutorial and why I also rarely even plan a piece, the ideas come flying and my head and hands try to bring them to live.
Inspiration is in everything, sometimes even in a bowl of soup!

What inspires you to create?

This has always been a hard question for me to answer. I'm not like most and can see a butterfly or flower and get inspired. I just get great pleasure in creating something new, seeing someone wear a piece of my jewelry or them telling ME that I INSPIRED them. I always did crafts growing up and it is only natural that I'm still doing them.

What inspires you to create?

It's hard to pick just one thing that inspires me...my family, friends, nature and life continuously throw new ideas at me. For years, I tried to create through several mediums before I stumbled into clay.

I do know that when my muse died a few years ago (a 21yr old cat, Jake, that I had inherited and was a constant companion during my clay time), I had to step away from my craft table. It took several years before I could return, and since I have two new cats in my life, along with the constant support of family and friends, I have started working again this past year and am loving it more than ever.

I get lots of input from family and friends, which I rely on, though find overwhelming too at times when their ideas conflict with my new muse's ideas! But, I rather have too many ideas than none at all!

What inspires you to create?

I create because I must. I find inspiration all around me, and I NEED to manifest all the ideas in my head. And I create to bring joy to others. When my work brings a smile to someone's face that is the ultimate reward. I was given a gift, a natural ability, and an intense creativity. Over the years I've honed that gift and continue to learn as much as I can. Not to use such a gift would be an absolute waste.

What inspires you to create?

I usually get inspired by textures, color, and food. Sometimes when I go out and eat and people watch you just notice the most interesting things and that would spark my creativity. I also have a need to feel, taste, and even do everything before I make anything in clay. I guess the looking and doing part inspires me the most.

What inspires you to create?

Busy hands are happy hands! I think that making things is a primal instinct hard-wired into our brains, whether we're inventing something new or making something for the nth time. Some of us have an engineering kicker or an artistic kicker (or both), but I think that making things is akin to growing things, inventing things, etc. We just can't help it!

What inspires you to create?

"Everyday life and experience is what inspires this artist. Or my son will come home from school and ask me to create something for him (his imagination is very active.) My husband has suggested many, many things to me as well. Heck, I've even had my dad tell me something 'cool' to create. I'm not opposed to input from other sources. And as always, with everything I create, I will put my own personal style to it!"
