Favorite Tool: handmade extra hands

ArtFairlyAware

My favorite tool is something I use with every bead or pendant I create. It's actually a sugar shaker that I bought at the dollar store. I thread the beads onto bamboo skewers and then paint on my clear acrylic coat. The holes in the sugar shaker are the perfect size for holding the skewers while the beads dry. I just replace the skewers as needed.

I have been using skewers stuck into in a foam block. Works well but has the tendancy to tip over from time to time. I like that the sugar shaker would be much steadier.

I do something similar, only I stick toothpicks in a Styrofoam block. This is a really good idea- I may have to find myself a sugar shaker and some skewers! Thanks for sharing!
