Handmade scale texture tools

One of the greatest things I like about polymer clay is that the only thing you really need to purchase is the clay itself. Though there are many tools you can buy, most can be found already sitting in your house, garage, basement, even your childrens toy box. I always keep an eye out for items I can repurpose. With this in mind I never really consider any thing "weird".

My favorite item turned tool is an old fountian pen nib I ran across'

It makes perfect fish scales, smiles, and even fingernails. Until I found the nib I had been using plastic drinking straws. The opposite side is great for texturing with very small dots.
