Sometimes it's a color I can't find or a design idea I have but there isn't anything that is just right, so I will make what I want, mix the colors, shape the bead or pendant, I like to use different mediums together sometimes & that can require making something that blends several designs or colors to get the textures or shapes I want. Never quite sure where or when I will get an idea, then sometimes it takes a while to work out all the details or the combination doesn't work like I thought it would so I let it set for a while & come back to it, other times I will be working on one idea & get two or three more so work on them too!
